Individual Giving
Individual donors are the blessed foundation of Shepherds.  From its early beginnings in 1958, Shepherds has been blessed with friends of the ministry who have given sacrificially, graciously, and generously to provide the funds necessary to staff, equip, build, expand, and meet the daily needs of a continually growing resident population. There are several opportunities to exercise good stewardship in giving of tangible and intangible assets to the ministry.  If you would like to make your gift to Shepherds while you are visiting our website, please go to the "Donatons" link under the Foundation menu or the "Give Online Now" under the Giving menu.  Thank you.
  • The General Fund is for donors who DO NOT wish to designate their gift. Contributions of any amount – both large and small – to the General Fund will be used to meet the most urgent needs of the ministry.
  • Our Friendship Club offers individuals the opportunity to begin supporting Shepherds at a level of $10 or more per month.
  • At a giving level of $25 or more per month, the Adopt a Resident program enables the donor and resident to establish a growing relationship.
  • Interested donors can help provide some of the unique, extraordinary needs for the special people at Shepherds through the Special Needs: Beyond the Basics Fund. For contributions of $25 or more, donors can help to provide our individuals with emergency travel, corrective shoes and dental or medical services not covered by insurance.
  • Our popular Food for a Day program invites interested donors to provide daily meals for as few as 25 residents or the entire populations for one day. The current cost of providing food for one day at Shepherds is $658.
  • The Shepherds Care Program is our most active giving program and was established to encourage regular giving on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis. Donors can participate with a gift of $50, $100 or more per month.
  • The G.A.P. (God Answers Prayer) Fund is a major donor program that helps make up the difference between what families are able to pay and the actual cost of care. Participation in the G.A.P. Fund begins at the level of $1,000 per month.

In addition to these programs, which fund our day to day cost of care, Shepherds has various needs throughout the year. We address these needs through the Current Appeals program which is our direct mail effort to advise current, past, and potential donors of on-going needs for which we need their prayers, and if God would so direct, their gifts.

We strive to be good stewards of what God supplies. Your questions, concerns, and suggestions are important to us.
