SUMMARY
The President of Shepherds Foundation, Inc. (SFI) will report to the President of Shepherds Ministries (SM)/Shepherds College (SC) and shall work collaboratively with the SFI Board of Directors to lead SFI as the philanthropic arm of the organization, to raise the necessary funds to finance the mission and vision of SM/SC. Specifically, the President of SFI will ensure that SFI’s fiscal, operations, fundraising, marketing, and programmatic strategies are effectively implemented across all segments of the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Spiritual and ethical leadership
- Act as a conduit of Christ’s love in an effort to point others to Jesus through actions and words.
- Serve as a spiritual leader, ministering through prayer and discipleship, to the various constituencies of SFI and SM/SC.
- Administer all functions of SFI in accordance with applicable laws and the organization’s by-laws.
Strategic vision and leadership
- Collaborate with the President of SM/SC, the SFI Board, and the SM/SC Board to refine and implement SFI’s strategic plan while ensuring that the budget, staff, and priorities are aligned with SFI’s core mission to raise the necessary funds to meet SC’s operational, capital, expansion, and endowment needs.
- Provide inspirational leadership and direction to staff and ensure the continued development and management of a professional and efficient organization; establish effective decision-making processes that will enable SFI to achieve its long- and short-term goals and objectives.
- Cultivate a strong and transparent working relationship with the SFI and SM/SC Boards, ensuring open communication about the measurement of financial, programmatic, and impact performance against stated milestones and goals.
- In partnership with the President of SM/SC, help build an SFI Board that is highly engaged and willing to leverage and secure resources.
Development
- Ensure that the flow of funds permits SFI to make continuous progress towards the achievement of its mission and that those funds are allocated properly to reflect present needs and future potential.
- Formulate and execute comprehensive marketing, branding and development strategies that will ensure consistency throughout the organization and enhance revenue from major donors, foundations, churches, and corporations.
- Develop itinerary, travel to meetings with donors, represent and promote SFI and SM/SC across the country.
Strengthening infrastructure and operations
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality services while managing for current and future growth.
- Support and motivate the organization's staff.
- Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration and strengthen internal communications with staff throughout the organization.
- Oversee the financial status of the organization including developing long and short-range financial plans, monitoring the budget and ensuring sound financial controls are in place; set financial priorities accurately to ensure the organization is operating in a fiscally responsible manner that supports the needs of the program and staff.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
- Minimum of a BA, MBA, or related advanced degree preferred
- At least 5 years of diverse and successful fundraising experience
- Prior nonprofit management experience
- Significant board development, marketing/branding, and fiscal management experience
- A financially savvy leader with the ability to set clear priorities, delegate, and guide investment in people and systems; keen analytic, organization, and problem-solving skills, which support and enable sound decision-making
- Excellent coalition-building skills with an ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders; a persuasive negotiator able to achieve consensus amongst differing opinions
- Outstanding presentation and communication skills to be an outgoing spokesperson, relationship builder, and fundraiser
- Strong commitment to the Christian discipleship and professional development of staff
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Valid driver's license is required.
- CPA and/or CFRE preferred
QUALIFICATIONS

Shepherds assumes payment for the cost of the TB test if necessary as described above and will pay the cost of the chest x-ray and reading if one is required.
